Praying for Mom

Dear God: I'm praying so very hard that the internal bleeding that my Mom has is from the celebrex and not something life threatening. It's been a long 9 days with tests and results. Praying as hard ad I can.

Beautiful saying

It's been said that criticism should be like a gentle rain that nourishes growth, not a torrential storm that washes away roots. No matter how well intended, words of criticism are heard more loudly than they are spoken, especially when the critic is someone whose approval is important. If you want to help, not hurt, think carefully about timing, tone and content.-Michael Josephson

Teachings of Gautam Buddha

On Judgmental People:

People with opinions just go... around bothering each other.

On Anger:

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

On Truth:

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

On Anger:

You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.

On Work:

To be idle is a short road to death and to be diligent is a way of life; foolish people are idle, wise people are diligent.

On Friends:

An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.

On Love:

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

On Envy:

Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind.

On Good Deeds:

Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds.

On Thought:

The mind is everything. What you think you become.

On Gratitude:

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

On Hatred:

Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.

Serenity

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Author Unknown

Beautiful prayer

We attended the funeral of a beautiful gal who was tragically killed in an accident on the 405 in Long Beach on Feb. 17th.  She was only 23.  I found this prayer very beautiful and very profound in the journey we all take in our lives.

Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled
as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving and FORGIVING that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
Amen

No one is perfect.  Everyone falls and fails at times in their lives.  It's what that person does to correct the flaws and failures that makes that person.  To toss someone aside that has been in ones life for their whole live is so sad.  If you love that person you should encourage and being encouraging that they are taking steps to change their life and eliminate the problems that have led to just discord.  I know there are people that all may know that have drug and alcohol problems and have sought helped and changed their lives. And I know that people have stood by them and not thrown them under the bus. To throw so much away to punish someone is something I will never understand.  In punishing that person you are also punishing others which is so unfair to make others pay for someone elses failures and actions.  Forgiveness is something that all should embrace.  If a person is/has changed what was so damaging to themselves and to others why would one not support and forgive.   God Bless you all.

“Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone..." John 8:7

When someone you love messes up, you don't have the option of just running away. If you live long enough, the day will come when a friend or family member will disappoint. You stand by their side. You can't change what they did no matter how hard you wish it wasn't true. It doesn't mean that you encourage or applaud that behavior by any means or even understand it. It just means that you're there for them. That's how friends and families are suppose to work.

Happy New Year.................a New Year

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. So, love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Forgiveness is a must. Life is too short to be anything but happy!
